WEST RICHLAND, Wash. – Enterprise and Libby Middle Schools are engaged in a friendly competition, organized by the West Richland Police Department and West Richland Community Care Foundation, to collect pet food for local seniors in need.
The competition, running from April 9 to April 29, 2025, encourages students and staff to donate pet food items. The public can also participate by dropping off donations at the West Richland Police Department lobby located at 7920 W. Van Giesen St.
One class from the winning school, determined by the weight of donations, will earn a pizza party. Polar, the WRPD’s therapy dog, is set to announce the winner on National Therapy Animal Day, April 30, 2025.
Donations should include unopened pet food items, with lightweight bags of 6 lbs. or less being particularly helpful. All brands are accepted.
Items collected will be distributed through Mid-Columbia Meals on Wheels, with surplus contributions going to replenish the organization’s Pet Pantry.
