WEST RICHLAND, Wash. – The West Richland City Council centered on pressing issues of property maintenance and public safety during its July 15 meeting.
Council members discussed the need for stronger enforcement of nuisance codes to tackle properties cluttered with junk and abandoned vehicles.
Council member Ken Stoker highlighted a specific property with increasing junk accumulation, including multiple cars and furniture left outside.
Council member May Hayes supported the call for action, suggesting the formation of a committee to focus on these concerns and ensure that the voices of residents are heard in the decision-making process.
Moving forward, the council agreed it should do more to address these issues with a commitment to transparency in city finances and resource allocation.
