WALLA WALLA, WA – The WESCOM 911 Communications Center announced that non-emergency and administrative phone lines will be temporarily unavailable on Monday, February 9, starting at 7 a.m. due to planned maintenance.

According to a press release, this maintenance will not affect 911 call service or Text-to-911, and response times for police, fire, and EMS will remain the same.

Community members needing police, fire, or ambulance services during this time should call 911. The non-emergency lines are expected to be down for 6 to 8 hours.

WESCOM stated that the outage is necessary to ensure the continued safe and reliable operation of the 911 system.

Esther Click, WESCOM Manager, emphasized the importance of this work, saying, “WESCOM appreciates the community’s patience and understanding while this important work is completed to support emergency communications.”

The public will be notified as soon as the non-emergency and administrative lines are back in service.
