RICHLAND, Wash. – Washington State University Tri-Cities and Visit Tri-Cities are teaming up to offer a free workshop aimed at enhancing local hospitality and tourism services.

The Tourism and Hospitality Service Excellence Workshop is scheduled for Wednesday, August 20, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the Richland Community Center.

The event is designed to improve customer service skills for local businesses as the Tri-Cities anticipates an influx of athletes and visitors in September for the IRONMAN 70.3 triathlon.

“Through strategic community partnerships Cougar Tracks is redefining workforce training by designing agile, industry-informed programs that meet employers where they are and prepare workers for where the region is going,” Michelle Hrycauk Nassif, Director of Cougar Tracks, stated.

Organizers added that attendees will gain valuable insights into the Tri-Cities tourism sector and learn business practices to enhance tourism.

Those interested in registering for the workshop can do so through the online registration survey.
