
Ahead of this week’s cold snap, warming centers will be open for those in need.
Here are a list of warming centers in the Tri-Cities, Walla Walla and Yakima areas:
Yakima Union Gospel Mission
Service Type: They have heaters on the front porch, the Good News Cafe is open during the day and there are hot coffee and snacks available throughout the day. There are some exceptions for overnight placement in colder weather conditions throughout the winter on a case-by-case basis.

Camp Hope
Service Type: They are open year-round with heaters, meals, showers, restrooms and more. They are open 24 hours.

Yakima Neighborhood Health Services
Service Type: Neighborhood Connections is their direct services location. They can assist with individuals becoming homeless Certified, complete a basic needs assessment and do referrals for housing, medical, dental, behavioral health or substance use disorders. The Rhonda Hauff Resource Center has a community room for warming up in the winter, food assistance, SUDPT, coffee, screening for Basic Needs and the option to make an appointment for services.

Service Type: Iniitnu’t Cold Winter Weather Shelter has a Community Room to warm up, meals, coffee, restrooms, referral for substance use, mental health and community resources. It is open to the public for ages 18 and older only.

Walla Walla
First Congregational Church, in coordination with community partners, is providing a safe, low barrier warming shelter to those in need. The center will be activated when predicted temperatures, using the National Weather Service- Pendleton forecast page, drop to 20° F, or less, or 25 °F with precipitation. When activated, the center will operate from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
