
OUTLOOK, Wash. – A volunteer youth pastor from Sunnyside has been arrested in connection with multiple sex offenses involving a teenager.
According to the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office, detectives arrested a 32-year-old man who serves as a volunteer youth group leader at a Lower Valley church.
Deputies said they were notified after the teen disclosed the alleged abuse to adults, who then reported it to law enforcement.
The suspect was arrested at his home. According to deputies, he admitted the teenager had visited his home multiple times but denied any sexual contact.
Yakima deputies said that the suspect was booked into the county jail for six counts of a rape of a child, two counts of child molestation and one count of communication with a minor for immoral purposes.
