WEST RICHLAND, Wash. – Construction on the Well 2R Wellhouse and Transmission Main Project at Flat Top Park is set to begin Monday, July 28.
This project will replace the old Well 2, which has been out of service since 2019, with a new facility located in the Benton Franklin Transit loop, the city of West Richland said in a release.
Bus services will remain fully operational throughout the construction period.
The City of West Richland has assured that there will be limited impact on park parking and no disruptions to scheduled events.
In addition to the new wellhouse, the city plans to upgrade the water transmission main along Collins Road, stretching from Bombing Range Road to Astoria Road and connecting to the Flat Top Reservoirs.
Drivers in the area should be prepared for detours and traffic control along Collins Road during the construction phase.
For those traveling in the area, alternate routes are recommended to avoid delays. Further updates, including specific traffic impact dates, will be announced soon.
