United Way’s $5K grant boosts school attendance in Benton and Franklin

BENTON AND FRANKLIN COUNTIES, Wash. – The United Way of Benton and Franklin Counties has received a $5,000 grant from Mentor Washington to support its “Attendance Matters” program.

The program is addressing what they call chronic absenteeism. The funding aims to improve student engagement and attendance in both Franklin and Benton Counties.

United Way’s goal is to keep kids in school. As a non-profit, they work to support the safety and success of younger children.
