U.S. population growth projected to slow due to policies, aging

UNITED STATES — The Congressional Budget Office has projected a significant slowdown in U.S. population growth over the next 30 years, estimating an increase of only 15 million people.

This new estimate is smaller than those made in previous years. According to the Budget Office, the reduced projection is largely attributed to President Donald Trump’s immigration policies and an aging population.

The U.S. population is expected to stop growing by 2056, maintaining a size similar to the previous year.

Beginning in 2030, the country is anticipated to experience annual deaths surpassing annual births, with immigration becoming the sole factor contributing to population growth.

This information highlights the expected demographic shifts and their implications for the nation’s future.
