RICHLAND, Wash.- TROT (Therapeutic Riding of Tri-Cities) is a nonprofit providing adaptive horseback riding and animal assisted therapy to help veterans, people with special needs or other challenges.
TROT is hosting their annual Trot for TROT 5K and 1-mile fun run Saturday, October 11. Participants can walk, run or jog along the Columbia River, starting and finishing at the Columbia Point Marina parking lot.
Cynthia MacFarlan, Founder of TROT, said this run is an important part of their fundraising to support TROT’s programs. “We have five programs that we offer to the community,” said MacFarlan. “As you can imagine, our equines, which are a vital component of these programs are very costly to care and maintain.’
Last year, the event saw huge success with 250 people showing up for the run, raising 20-thousand dollars.
Runners who want to take part in this year’s Trot for TROT can sign up here and runners will get a long sleeve shirt for participating.
