PASCO, Wash. – Brick Convention made its debut in the Evergreen State, delighting Lego enthusiasts at the HAPO Center. The two-day event offered a weekend filled with Lego activities and new sets available for purchase.

Master Lego artist Armado Pinlac, widely known in the Lego community as ‘AC Pin‘, shared his passion for this unique hobby. He first discovered Lego in 1999 while playing with his three children.

“When they were young, their favorite toy was Lego. So that’s how I learned to build with them. I needed a hobby, you know, to get me to de-stress from work. I needed something to take my mind off work,” Pinlac said.

A Star Wars fan before becoming a Lego hobbyist, Pinlac has several impressive builds, including Star Wars and botanical themes. One of his proudest achievements is a project that took over three months to complete.

Theed hanger is my most iconic Lego source build in the sense that during that time span, when I completed it back in 2012, nobody else in the whole world was creating that big of a scene, you know, using Lego Star Wars,” Pinlac said. “And in fact, even Lego paid attention to it because they asked my permission to actually put it in the Lego Star Wars Visual Dictionary.”

Pinlac expressed gratitude for the support he has received and emphasized the unique appeal of Legos.

“I’ve actually met, you know, other Lego builders, they attributed my work to inspiring them to actually build. Now how cool is that?” Pinlac said. “I mean, something that you did for fun for yourself, you know, inspires other builds and now they’re on their own, you know, also building, you know, something that’s inspiring other creations. It’s a toy or a hobby like no other.”

The Brick Convention in Tri-Cities offered visitors a chance to explore their creativity and enjoy the timeless hobby of building with Legos.
