Tri-Cities to host National Night Out events for community and police interaction

TRI-CITIES, Wash. – City and county departments across the Tri-Cities region are inviting residents of all ages to attend National Night Out events Tuesday night.

The nationwide National Night Out campaign is intended to build community partnerships with law enforcement to foster safer neighborhoods.

Richland’s event from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Howard Amon Park near the Fingernail Stage will include live music by the Knutzen Brothers along with interactive booths, games and giveaway.

To ensure safety, Lee Boulevard at Amon Park Drive will be closed to vehicles during the event.

Parking is available at the Richland Community Center along the park.

The National Night event in Kennewick runs from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. as well.

At the Southridge Sports and Events Complex, attendees can enjoy free hamburgers, cheeseburgers, and hotdogs along with Knockerball inflatables, Big Top the Clown and archery tag.

There will also be vehicle displays and info booths from city and community partners. A Life Flight helicopter will be on display, and the Gesa Carousel of Dreams will offer free rides.

Pasco residents are invited to join the celebration at Chiawana Park from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. where they can enjoy games, activities and community booths.

The first 100 kids to arrive will receive a free KONA Ice treat, courtesy of the Pasco Police Foundation, and a high five from Pasco Police Department officers.

West Richland will host its National Night Out at the Bombing Range Sports Complex from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

The event, organized by the West Richland Chamber of Commerce and the West Richland Police Department, promises fun activities, live demonstrations and opportunities to connect with local law enforcement.
