PASCO, Wash. – Tri-Cities Powerhouse hosted its first-ever Comic Con, drawing nearly 5,000 guests to Pasco for a weekend of fun and community engagement. Attendees embraced their inner child with cosplay, comics, and celebrity encounters.

Dave Haworth, a former Dungeons and Dragons novelist and now President of Business Operations at Tri-Cities Powerhouse, shared his thoughts on the event.

“It’s all inclusive,” he said. “You can be Spider-Man, you could be Captain America, you can be Batman. You don’t have to be yourself. Everyone’s accepted here and it’s all about just having an amazing time.”

Lexi Aldrich, an avid Pokémon collector, was thrilled with the interactions at the event.

“The community that comes into a con, is just fantastic,” she stated, showcasing her favorite Japanese card, a PSA 151 Mew Promo card.

Jason Langston from the Columbia Basin Ghostbusters enjoyed sharing his passion with both kids and adults.

“Seeing the little kids get excited about Ghostbusters to the adults, it’s really funny,” he said. “So is the common kinship.”

Haworth emphasized the importance of the community aspect.

“It’s just that people need things to do,” he expressed. “We like to do things for the community as well. We like to, give to charitable organizations in the community and uplift the community.”

Though the two-day event has concluded, Haworth plans to host another Comic-Con around the same time next year. Keep an eye out for future announcements.
