KENNEWICK, Wash. – High school graduates in the Tri-Cities are stepping into the workforce with celebration and support from the community. The Tri-City Regional Chamber of Commerce organized the 4th Annual Career Signing Day to honor the Class of 2025.
This event highlights the connection between local businesses and the next generation of workers. Lisa Arneson, Workforce and Education Coordinator with the Tri-Cities Regional Chamber of Commerce, emphasized the importance of recognizing students pursuing technical and trade careers. “There’s all different ways that graduating high school seniors can find their pathway and their careers,” she said.
Arneson shared her thoughts on changing perceptions around entering the workforce directly after high school. “If they tell their peers, I’m not going to college… and I’m going to work, I think sometimes that’s not a celebration. And we want to reverse that trend,” she stated.
The Career Signing Day provides graduates with networking opportunities with local businesses. “We couldn’t do this without the employers that are taking on these kids into their into their industries and, providing them jobs,” Arneson added.
She emphasized the significance of students staying local and contributing to the community’s workforce. The event marks an important step for many graduates as they embark on their careers, highlighting the support from local businesses and the community.
