PASCO, Wash. – Passengers at Tri-Cities Airport and airports across the country can now keep their shoes on during security checks, thanks to a new TSA policy.
Buck Taft, Director of Tri-Cities Airport, expressed enthusiasm for the change.
“This is welcome news for our travelers, who can now enjoy an even smoother experience when they fly local,” said Buck Taft, Director of the Tri-Cities Airport in a release. “We’re committed to working alongside our TSA partners to make the security process as smooth and stress-free as possible for everyone flying out of PSC.”
The policy change, announced by Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, aims to improve the travel experience and reduce wait times.
“Ending the ‘Shoes-Off’ policy is the latest effort to modernize and enhance traveler experience across our nation’s airports,” Noem said.
The new policy is made possible by TSA’s advanced screening technology and security measures. Identity verification, Secure Flight vetting and baggage screening continue to ensure safety.
