RICHLAND, Wash. – The Tri-Cities are invited to embrace the vibrant spirit of New Orleans at the Uptown Mardi Gras Celebration in Richland on March 1.

The event, organized by Emerald Spark Events, will take place at the Uptown Theater at 6 p.m.

Headlining the celebration is Bourbon and Bellows, a band known for its unique blend of New Orleans music. Their sound has been described as “Tom Waits and Django Reinhardt jamming late one night at a dive bar in the French Quarter after too much whiskey.”

The evening will also feature performances by JBT Jazz and a traditional New Orleans second-line parade led by Roving Horns. Attendees can look forward to aerial performances by Elektra Rose.

“We’re infusing the evening with the feel of the French Quarter,” said organizer Alicia Cullison. “It’s about capturing the joy, the music, and the spirit of Mardi Gras.”

Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy New Orleans-style cuisine and specialty cocktails at the bar. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., and tickets are priced at $25.

Tickets can be bought online.
