KENNEWICK, Wash. – A big event is set to take place in historic downtown Kennewick as three of the area’s notable bars come together for a family-friendly (and free!) block party. The collaboration aims to bring energy and community support back to the area.
Andy Stirling, a key figure in the collaboration and owner at the Sports Page Bar & Grill, explained the motivation behind this joint effort. “We’re trying to create something special down here,” Stirling said.
“If we want to create long-term sustainable success, better energy, more people supporting the businesses down here, then we have to collaborate and cooperate with one another.”
The event, which involves bars such as the Branding Iron, Parkade, and food trucks like Hot Mess and Doggie Style, is part of a larger revitalization effort for downtown Kennewick.
Stirling emphasized the importance of community involvement, noting, “You’re seeing people come together. We have regular historic downtown meetings. All we want to talk about is how we can continue to support each other so that we can support the community in the Tri-Cities.”
“I think great things are coming to downtown,” he added.
The collaboration aims to ensure the success of the block party and the continued support of downtown Kennewick, as well as a grand ole’ time this Saturday, starting at noon with music starting at around 4 p.m.
