
YAKIMA, Wash. – A shooting early Sunday morning resulted in one fatality and two injuries, according to the Yakima Police Department.
Yakima Police responded to reports of gunshots at a residence in the 400 block of N. 5th Ave. around 3:15 a.m. on February 22, 2026. Upon arrival, officers discovered three victims with gunshot wounds.
A 16-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other victims, a 16-year-old male and a 17-year-old female, were transported to MultiCare Hospital and later to a Seattle area hospital for advanced care. Their condition remains critical.
The Criminal Investigations Division is actively investigating the incident. There is currently limited information on the events leading up to the shooting, and the identities of those involved are being withheld as detectives work to piece together the details.
