KENNEWICK, Wash. – A 16-year-old male was taken into custody in connection with a shooting that occurred last month near the intersection of Clearwater and Edison Street.
The Criminal Apprehension Team (CAT) along with the Tri-City Regional SWAT Team and Kennewick Police Department (KPD) served search warrants at residences in the 4800 and 5000 blocks of West Clearwater, KPD said in a release.
The teen was booked into the Benton Franklin Juvenile Detention for first-degree assault and unlawful possession of a firearm.
On June 28, KPD said witnesses saw three individuals running and shooting at a passing vehicle. No injuries were reported.
Three people were initially detained, but released after further investigation.
Following today’s arrest, KPD did not say whether additional suspects are being sought.
