Suspect arrested in Prosser for June assault on Canyon Drive

PROSSER, Wash. – The Prosser Police Department announced an arrest in connection with a June 2025 assault on Canyon Drive.

On June 7, 2025, officers responded to reports of an assault in the 300 block of Canyon Drive. An adult male had unlawfully entered a residence and attacked the victim. Despite sustaining minor injuries, the victim managed to fend off the suspect, who fled the scene, leaving behind a roll of duct tape.

Forensic analysis conducted by the Washington State Patrol Crime Lab revealed a latent fingerprint, which was crucial in identifying the suspect. Detective Forsyth identified the suspect as a 29-year-old resident of Yakima and established probable cause for arrest.

On December 11, 2025, with the help of the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office Pro-Act Team, the suspect was taken into custody at his residence without incident. He is currently held in Benton County Jail on a $500,000 bond.

The suspect faces charges of first-degree burglary, a Class A felony.
