
SUNNYSIDE, Wash. – The Sunnyside Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting of a teen who was considered a suspect in a separate homicide last month.
Officers responding to the most recent shooting Sunday, February 23 in the 1300 block of S 13th St. found 18-year-old Angel E. Plascencia-Gutierrez with a gunshot wound, Sunnyside Police said in a release.
Detectives said footage from video evidence shows three males meeting and talking, with Plascencia-Gutierrez opening fire on the other two, who returned fire, hitting him twice and resulting in his death.
The police are working to identify the other two individuals seen in the video, the release said.
Plascencia-Gutierrez was charged with possession of a stolen firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm in the shooting death of Isabel Rodriguez.
Police were investigating him as an accomplice in the January 7 homicide in Sunnyside when they found a stolen Glock 9mm handgun out of Bellingham under his bed, court documents said.
