RICHLAND, Wash. – The summer salmon fishing season in the Hanford Reach is set to begin on June 16, the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) said in a release.
From Columbia Point to the I-182 Bridge in Richland, WDFW said anglers can fish until July 15.
The rules allow a daily limit of four sockeye salmon, with all other salmon needing to be released.
Fishing is restricted to the west side of the river, and only bank fishing with hand-cast lines is permitted.
Anglers with a Two-Pole Endorsement can use two poles, but a night closure will be in effect.
From the I-182 Bridge to below Priest Rapids Dam, WDFW said fishing will continue until July 31.
The same rules apply regarding size and limits.
