Strides Therapeutic Horsemanship Center in Pasco to close after nearly 20 years

PASCO, Washington – Strides Therapeutic Horsemanship Center will be closing after 19 years of providing equine-assisted therapeutic programs to the community, the center said on its website.

The decision was announced on June 18, 2025, due to financial challenges. The center said it struggled to secure long-term partnerships and consistent funding needed to sustain its operations.

According to the announcement, Strides required nearly $10,000 monthly to operate at full capacity. However, recent support has often been less than half of that, forcing the center to use its reserves to stay open.

The Strides team expressed gratitude, stating, “We are heartbroken to say goodbye—but deeply grateful for every rider, family, volunteer, donor, and supporter who believed in our mission and stood beside us.”
