SUNNYSIDE, Wash. – Sunnyside Police Department has increased patrols around the city following a social media post that gained traction online.
The post claimed that earlier this week, a man dressed in all black got out of his vehicle and chased a child near a local school. This prompted a response from both the city manager and the police department.
Police Chief Rob Layman discussed the situation, stating that security cameras in the area could neither confirm nor deny the incident, specifically relating to a visual of the alleged car. Despite this uncertainty, Chief Layman decided to take precautionary measures by deploying two additional patrol cruisers to monitor the area and schools in the Sunnyside area.
The situation is being closely monitored, and further updates will be provided if more information becomes available.
