Six people arrested in connection to several car thefts in Pasco

PASCO, wash.- Six people arrested in connection to stolen cars in Pasco.

According to the Pasco Police Department, on February 2, around 3:14 a.m. PPD received a call that a car was prowling near the 5400 block on Pierre Dr. Several people were reportedly walking around the dark street and getting into unlocked cars. Those people reportedly got into a dark-colored Chevrolet Colorado.

When PPD arrived evidence of car prowling was found and the Chevrolet Colorado was found abandoned several blocks away.

A nearby resident had video of the suspect in the Chevrolet Colorado get out and get into a Toyota Tundra driven by someone else. An hour later the Tundra was reported stolen.

According to PPD, the Tundra had GPS and the owner was able to locate the vehicle for police. The Tundra was found on the 400 block of agate in Pasco. No one was inside the car when PPD found it. However, they were able to find the person who stole it was inside a nearby apartment.

When officers knocked on the door five people ran from the backdoor. One Pasco Police Officer was able to catch up to one suspect and arrest them. A search warrant was granted for the apartment and officers found property inside that belonged to several stolen cars. Inside the apartment another 6 people involved in the car thefts were found.

Six people in total were arrested including three 17-year-olds.
