
RICHLAND, Wash.–Queer community members will have the opportunity to attend a safety workshop to help mange physical and emotional conflict.
Safety 101 will teach principles of Aikido, a Japanese martial art founded in the early 20th century with underlying tenets for people to protect the world around them, partners and themselves, according to PLFAG.
Attendees can expect relaxation techniques, getting used to people inside their bubble, how to not get it and beginner rolling, according to PFLAG. People are advised to wear loose clothing with minimal jewelry.
The safety class will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at 1348 Jadwin Ave, according to PFLAG. While attendance free, space is limited. Registration and a release form can be completed online.
