
KENNEWICK, Wash. – Starting Monday, March 10, a road construction project to enhance traffic flow and safety in Kennewick will begin on the intersection of W. Quinault Ave and Columbia Center Blvd.
The improvements include adding a left-turn lane from Quinault Ave to Columbia Center Blvd and creating dedicated lanes for westbound traffic on Quinault Ave. Additionally, an extra southbound lane on Columbia Center Blvd will lead into the Red Line parking lot, the city announced.
A new traffic signal will be installed, along with updated ADA ramps and upgraded lighting. The project will also improve storm drainage, curbs, gutters, and sidewalks.
The construction is scheduled from March to November 2025, with work hours set from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. Temporary lane and sidewalk closures, as well as delays, are expected during these hours.
Drivers are advised to plan accordingly and follow posted detours.
