RICHLAND, Wash. – The Richland School District (RSD) investigated a substitute teacher’s behavior in a classroom at Richland High School.
Robert Sorensen, the district’s Behavioral Health Services Executive Director, provided a statement about the investigation.
“Richland School District was notified of behavior by a substitute teacher in a classroom at Richland High School yesterday (Wednesday) that was inconsistent with district policy. The district takes this matter seriously and immediately launched an investigation in accordance with district policies,” the statement said.
The district decided the substitute teacher will not be allowed to teach within the district again. RSD has not disclosed specific details about what occurred in the classroom that breached district policy.
The Richland School District emphasized that the safety and well-being of students are their top priorities and that they are committed to ensuring a positive learning environment.
