Richland road closures due to flooding impact school bus schedules

RICHLAND, Wash. – Localized flooding in Richland is causing transportation disruptions for some school families, according to an update from the Richland School District.

The current road closures include:

Van Giesen St. (S 38th Ave to Hwy 240 Bypass)Kingston Rd., Jones Rd., Gomer Rd.Ranch Rd. at S 46th AveSnively Rd. at Twin Bridges Rd.

Additionally, Weidle Rd. is impacted by water on the roadway but remains open at this time. All pick-up and drop-off locations will remain the same for Monday, December 15. Some routes may experience delays due to reroutes.

Routes impacted by delays include:

Hanford High School – Zero Hour• Route 603 (Bus B)• Route 201 (Bus C)

Hanford High School – Regular Routes:Two stops are affected. Impacted families have received separate, individualized emails.

Tapteal Elementary – Regular Routes:No stops are impacted, but pick-up and drop-off times may be delayed.

Special Education Routes – Pick-up and drop-off times may be delayed for the following routes:Route 402 – Hanford HSRoute 404 – Sacajawea ESRoute 409 – Hanford HSRoute 411 – Enterprise MSInformation will be shared directly with impacted families as updates become available.
