RICHLAND, Wash. – The city is set to receive $500,000 from the State Public Works Board for significant upgrades at its wastewater treatment plant.

The funding will be used for key systems that treat wastewater before it is returned to the environment. The project aims to extend the lifespan of crucial facility components, helping to prevent unexpected breakdowns and costly emergency repairs.

Additionally, the upgrades are expected to reduce energy consumption, leading to long-term cost savings and a smaller environmental footprint for the city.
