RICHLAND, Wash. – It’s the time of year when cities and counties prepare for the upcoming road construction season with resolutions and bid awards.
Road construction resolutions and bid awards on the Richland City Council agenda are up for adoption during Tuesday’s night’s meeting at City Hall.
The council is expected to authorize a construction agreement with the Washington State Department of Transportation and award the bid to a road construction company for the South George Washington Way Intersection Improvements Project.
According to a bid proposal, the project focuses on areas along George Washington Way, stretching 1,450 feet south of Columbia Point Drive to Comstock Street, and includes Aaron Drive, Adams Street, and Columbia Point Boulevard.
The work involves the removal and replacement of concrete curbs, gutters, driveways, and sidewalks, as well as asphalt pavement.
Also on the city council agenda is a resolution to authorize the Rural County Capital Funds Disbursement Agreement for the Duportail Street Improvements Project
The Rural County Capital Fund (“RCCF”) is used by Benton County to support new capital infrastructure projects.
The project entails the design and construction of two multi-lane roundabouts along Duportail Street at Kennedy and Vintner Square Entrance Drive, according to a bid proposal on the project.
The third resolution up for adoption authorizes a bid award for the Stevens Drive Reconstruction Project which seeks to rebuild Stevens Drive between Lee Boulevard and Swift Boulevard along with new curb, gutter, and sidewalks along Mansfield Street between Stevens Drive and the Columbia Playfields.
