Richland prepares for 10th Annual Take Strides Walk for youth awareness

RICHLAND, Wash. – The 10th Annual Take Strides Walk in Richland is set to take place in one week.

This event, hosted by Richland School District and the Tri-Cities Youth Suicide Prevention Coalition, aims to raise awareness, offer support and spread hope among students and families.

The event is scheduled for Wednesday, September 24. Activities will kick off with a pre-walk gathering at Fran Rish Stadium from 3:30 to 4:45 p.m.

Participants can expect a lively start to the walk as it begins at 5:00 p.m., led by the Richland High Band.

Following the walk, a program will be held at John Dam Plaza’s HAPO Stage at 6:00 p.m. The event will conclude with a return walk back to Fran Rish Stadium around 7:00 p.m.

Youth participants will receive free t-shirts while supplies last, along with glow wristbands and tribute bibs at the pre-walk gathering.

The event will also feature food, resource booths, trivia and community messages at John Dam Plaza.
