Richland police identify shooting suspect

RICHLAND, Wash.–An adult man was seen firing shots at a car on Saturday and was believed to have entered an apartment after.

It was believed the man was not alone in the apartment, and because both people were potentially armed, officers secured the area with the help of the regional SWAT Team, according to the Richland Police Department. It was determined one man was inside the apartment, and he was not involved in the shooting.

The driver in the car, who fled after being shot at, and the suspects were not found at the scene, according to RPD. The registered owner of the car, a white Dodge Challenger, reported it stolen later that evening.

Officers found the car abandoned in an orchard Sunday and impounded it for evidence purposes, according to RPD.

The shooting suspect was identified and arrested Tuesday, according to RPD. The case and investigation are still ongoing.
