
RICHLAND, Wash. – The City of Richland recognized outstanding employees with its annual internal awards program, honoring those who have made significant contributions to the community in 2024.
The Executive Leadership Team selected seven individuals for three awards: Going the Extra Mile (GEM), Culture Champion, and Impact Player of the Year, the city announced.
The GEM Award, which acknowledges employees who consistently exceed expectations, was awarded to Kaylee Bunch, Project Manager in Energy Services; Rhett Zufelt, Geographic Information System Analyst in Public Works; Krysten Mabe, Supervisor in Human Resources; and Chris Mason and Damon Jansen, both Commanders in the Police Department.
Tommy Garcia, Supervisor of Parks and Public Facilities, received the Culture Champion Award for fostering a positive and inclusive workplace environment.
Julie Piper, Recreation Manager in Parks and Public Facilities, was named Impact Player of the Year for her significant contributions to the city’s success, including innovative projects and enhancements to public services.
