RICHLAND, Wash. – Richland High School is set to premiere its first musical of the year, “Oklahoma!” The performances are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, with additional shows next Friday and Saturday. This classic play, written by Rogers and Hammerstein, is known for its significant impact on the theater industry.

Chris Wright, reporting live from Richland, spoke with the cast about their roles and experiences. Graydon Muller, who plays Ali Hakim, described his character as “a peddler who’s comically bad at his job,” adding that the character’s misadventures are a source of humor in the play. Muller shared his enthusiasm for the production, highlighting the strong bonds formed among the cast members. “It’s really fun just hanging out with these people and on stage and off stage, creating those connections,” he said.

McGinnis, portraying Andrew Carnes, expressed his excitement about being part of such a classic musical. “I love this character so much because he’s a little bit more of a serious character but still gets to be in these wonderful, fun moments,” McGinnis said. He also mentioned the enjoyment he finds in scenes where his character interacts with Ali Hakim.

The show will take place at Richland High School, with doors opening at 6:00 p.m., seating at 6:30 p.m., and the performance starting at 7:00 p.m. Audiences can look forward to a lively rendition of this beloved musical.
