RICHLAND, Wash. – Pacific Agri Services, a farm labor contracting company based in Richland, has been fined $1.25 million by the Washington State Department of Labor and Industries (L&I). This fine marks the largest in the department’s history.
The fine followed an investigation by L&I that began in August 2024. The investigation concluded that Pacific Agri Services allegedly operated without a license.
The company also reportedly did not complete up-to-date disclosure forms for nearly 5,000 employees. These forms are designed to inform employees about their rights, including hourly pay and guaranteed breaks.
Anthony Raimondo, the attorney representing Pacific Agri Services, stated that the allegations are entirely untrue. He believes his client is being unfairly targeted by the State of Washington and is eager to defend his client in court.
In response to these claims, L&I stated, “We issue citations based on the facts we gather during our thorough investigations. Of course, the company has every right to appeal, and while that process plays out we won’t be able to respond specifically to any claims the business is making now.”
