Richland, Wash. – The City of Richland has been working with an engineering and planning firm to assess and improve off-street parking regulations to support the revitalization of the Central Business District, according to a new city report.
Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc has been tasked with reviewing the city’s current parking strategies and recommending enhancements. The analysis includes reviewing prior studies and evaluating new state legislation.
City staff engaged in virtual meetings with stakeholders and the Richland Planning Commission in June 2025. These sessions gathered input from both public and private sectors. A public open house was also held to ensure community involvement.
The consultant’s findings and community feedback will be presented to the city council during the council’s workshop meeting on Tuesday, July 22.
This session will discuss various regulatory options, from basic state requirements to a fully managed parking system.
The council’s input will shape a technical memorandum, which may later be reviewed for final approval.
