RICHLAND, Wash. – At Kindred Spirits in Richland, community members can enjoy a unique experience with alcohol-free cocktails.
“Cava is one of the most popular spirits that we have in the store right now,” said Marlys Aspinwall, Kindred Spirits co-owner and operator.
Despite its popularity, they are currently out of stock, though pre-mixed drinks in cans are available in various flavors.
Cava, derived from a tree in the Pacific Islands, is extracted from the root of the kava tree. It offers a relaxing sensation without intoxication.
“When you first take a drink of it, you’ll notice that your tongue will tingle and tingle down your throat and that’s just that the kava working,” Aspinwall said.
For those interested in trying these unique drinks, Kindred Spirits offers free samples to everyone. The store is open from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday. More information can be found on the Kindred Spirits website.
