YAKIMA, Wash. – Repair Café Yakima is hosting a class for local gardeners to learn how to properly sharpen gardening tools, including shovels, pruners and lawn mower blades, on March 15.
The class will also teach attendees how to properly sharpen kitchen knives and scissors. It takes place at the Yakima Maker Space at 16 S. 1st St. from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
“We think the class is well-timed,” said Repair Café Yakima Planning Committee chair Mary Jepsen. “People are starting to think about Spring and will begin yard and garden clean-up yet this month.”
Repair Café Yakima hosts repair events every third Saturday at the Yakima Maker Space where community members can bring in items to be repaired at no charge, including small appliances, electronics and more.
