A hero police dog sniffed out a suspected drug dealer who was hiding on a shed roof.
German Shepherd Rooster sprang into action after two men were spotted fleeing from a taxi.
The two-year-old dog and his handler chased the suspects as they ran through the streets of Basford, Notts., last Tuesday, Nov. 18.
The cab had been spotted on Stockhill Lane by officers before drugs and a mobile phone were thrown from a window.
After the car pulled over nearby, a 31-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drug offenses.
Rooster then searched the area and led his handler through a series of gardens.
Bodycam footage shows the moment the hound started barking after detecting the suspect hiding on top of a garden shed.
A 25-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drugs offenses.
Sergeant Nicholas Dachtler, of Nottinghamshire Police’s dog section, said: “This was a great result for Rooster and his handler, who travelled a significant distance to find a suspect who was well hidden.
“Tracking suspects is a key part of our general-purpose training, and it is great to see Rooster putting those skills into action.
“Had it not been for their presence, this man would almost certainly have gone undetected.”
