Pasco woman charged after allegedly stealing $700K from dispensary

PASCO, Wash. – A Pasco woman is charged with theft after allegedly stealing around $700,000 from the Pacific Outpost cannabis dispensary, her place of work, since March 2024.

Court documents say Ashley Avila, 30, reportedly used her company credit card without permission at a casino. An audit also discovered that the company had a large sum of money missing from cash deposits she had handled.

A total of $588,749.55 were missing following the audit and an extra $181,685.35 in direct withdrawals and charges done without permission at Wildhorse Casino through her company card were also discovered through the investigation.

On May 20, officers arrested Avila at her home, finding several “Prada” purses, cash and Wildhorse Casino receipts.

Court documents say Avila admitted at the Pasco Police station to using the company card at Wildhorse, estimating that she spend $5,000 at the casino. She also admitted to stealing $18,000 in cash from Pacific Outpost.

Avila’s bail is set at $25,000. She is set to appear in court on Tue., June 3.
