Pasco teens hurt in crash on I-90 near George; driver charged with negligence

GRANT COUNTY, Wash. – Three Pasco teenagers and a 10-year-old were involved in a single-vehicle crash during the evening hours of July 15, seven miles east of George on Interstate 90.

The vehicle was traveling westbound when the 17-year-old driver fell asleep at the wheel, Washington State Patrol (WSP) said in a release.

The vehicle veered off the roadway into the median, rolled and came to rest facing eastbound in the ditch.

The driver was not injured but has been charged with negligent driving in the second degree, WSP said.

Three passengers, all juveniles from Pasco, were injured in the crash.

A 10-year-old male and 14-year-old female, who were not wearing seatbelts, and a 15-year-old male, who was wearing a seatbelt, were transported to Quincy Valley Hospital.

No drugs or alcohol were involved in the incident, WSP added.
