PASCO, Wash. – A stolen Jeep was recovered, and a suspect arrested following a police chase involving officers and K9 Brit, Pasco police said in a release.
Police said the investigation began on February 22 when the vehicle was taken from an apartment complex in Kennewick.
On February 25, a relative of the victim spotted the Jeep heading east on I-182 towards Burbank and followed until a Walla Walla County deputy caught up and attempted to stop it, police said.
The driver, however, continued towards Pasco, prompting a response from Pasco police officers who were nearby.
As officers closed in, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot, police said.
With the area secured, K9 Brit was deployed to track the suspect.
Despite strong winds, Brit tracked the suspect to a trailer where he was eventually taken into custody.
