PASCO, Wash. – Pasco is known for its rich agricultural heritage, and the city’s farmers markets offer a unique opportunity to connect with local farmers and artisans.
This year’s farmers markets will be held at Peanuts Park from May to October, every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Alyssa Warner from the city of Pasco highlighted the importance of these markets, noting that “everyone who has a booth here is either growing something or making something themselves.”
She emphasized that the products are locally sourced, providing a more personal experience compared to conventional grocery stores.
“Ask about it. Ask, how do I make this? How do I get my kids to like asparagus? Warner said, encouraging visitors to engage with vendors about their products and recipes.
Another exciting development is the collaboration between the Pasco Specialty Kitchen and the farmers market.
Warner described the kitchen as “our small business incubator,” offering aspiring food entrepreneurs a chance to test their ideas at a lower cost.
Those using the kitchen can showcase their products at the market, providing visitors with a sneak peek at potential future favorites.
“You get to be some of the first people to try it,” Warner stated.
