PASCO, Wash. – During a special September 15 meeting, the Pasco City Council selected Joe Cotta for the open Council Position No. 4 seat.
The position became vacant following the resignation of Mayor and Councilmember Pete Serrano on August 9.
The council discussed the candidates’ qualifications in an executive session on September 8, and later announced the interview list publicly.
During the special meeting, the four candidates, Cotta, Patrick Jones, Abel Campos and Tanya Bowers, were asked a series of questions.
Subsequently, the council went into executive session and selected Cotta to fill the seat.
The city attorney noted Cotta’s term may conclude on November 25, 2025 depending on the results of the November election or at the end of the year.
