Pasco chicken coop fire leaves several chickens dead

Pasco, WA – A fire broke out at a large chicken coop, prompting a swift response from the Pasco Fire Department on Sunday, March 30.

Firefighters arrived in the 1200 block of South 4th Ave and made sure no one was inside the home, Pasco Fire said in a release.

Crews managed to bring the fire under control within five minutes of their arrival.

The exterior of the home suffered some damage, but residents were able to return after crews ventilated the home to clear smoke.

A firefighter was taken to the hospital with a minor injury, otherwise no one else was hurt, the release said.

Firefighters said several chickens perished in the fire. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
