The Richland Police Department (RPD) assisted a federal task force detective in the arrest of an online child enticement suspect in the Queensgate neighborhood.
On Thursday, January 23, RPD said the man was wanted on a federal warrant by the Southwest Regional Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (SER-ICAC TF).
Following his arrest near Queensgate and Duportail on charges of online enticement of a minor, the suspect was transported to federal court for his initial appearance, RPD said.
The suspect also faces ongoing charges for similar behavior in other counties, RPD added.
SER-ICAC TF works with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to investigate and prosecute internet crimes against children.
The US Department of Justice’s Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) administers the ICAC Task Force Program.
