YAKIMA COUNTY, Wash. – One person was injured after being hit by a car while trying to cross State Route 97 near Wapato, according to Washington State Patrol.
A pedestrian was walking eastbound on West Wapato road and crossed the road in front of a car driving northbound on SR 97, according to WSP.
The pedestrian was injured and taken to Multicare Yakima Memorial Hospital. Charges are pending.
The cause of the crash is under investigation. It’s unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved.
