PULLMAN, Wash. – Washington State University’s (WSU) new president, Dr. Elizabeth “Betsy” R. Cantwell, will soon embark on a whirlwind tour across the university’s campuses.

This initiative, starting in Tri-Cities and ending in Pullman, will mark her first week in office, according to a WSU release.

President Cantwell plans to connect with faculty, staff, and students through welcome receptions, campus tours, and meetings.

Cantwell emphasized the importance of adapting to changes in research funding due to the shifting federal landscape. “We must become more agile and prepared for these changes,” she stated.

To address these challenges, she plans to introduce new communication methods, including “Cougar Teams.”

President Cantwell wants to hold listening sessions this fall to understand the needs of faculty, staff, and students better. “I am dedicated to start building vital connections now,” Cantwell added in the release.

Cantwell’s first tour visit is scheduled for Wednesday, April 2 from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m inside the Elson S. Floyd Atrium at WSU Tri-Cities.
