RICHLAND, Wash. – Mushroom Fest is making a comeback this weekend in Richland, offering a variety of activities and entertainment for attendees.
Hosted by Adventures Underground, the event will take place June 6, 7, and 8 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Adventures Underground hosts a variety of events, including author signings and a monthly book swap that is free to join. The venue also organizes a nerd trivia night and Dusty’s Dungeons, an event that introduces participants to Dungeons & Dragons.
Tiffany Whitelatch, a representative from Adventures Underground, shared details about the event.
“We’re going to have indoor and outdoor activities, kids games with prizes, vendors, food trucks, lots of ice cream and snow cones, different fun things, tacos, and vendors galore,” she said.
Mushroom Fest also celebrates Adventures Underground’s birthday.
Whitelatch, who has been with the bookstore for four years, expressed her excitement about its growth.
“I really enjoy seeing the crowd. I get to see returners. I get to see new people who are like, what? I’ve never seen this before. It’s just really good,” she said.
In addition to the various vendors and food options, the event will feature a diverse range of performances.
Whitelatch mentioned, “We have a poetry slam. We have an Aikido demo, a couple of those. We have some rappers, some DJs, some full-on bands, and even a yoga demonstration on Sunday.” The Mushroom Fest promises to be an engaging and enjoyable event for the community.
